  1. In 8th grade, I was obsessed with ice hockey. I have never really followed sports before or since, but during this 18 month period, I was so obsessed I wore a rotation of NY Ranger t-shirts everyday and nothing else.
  2. When I was a really little kid, I toyed with the idea of being a priest.
  3. I LOVE EDM.
  4. I’m very, very compulsive. Sometimes this works for me. I’ve always been a voracious reader, but I’ve read an average of two books every week since 2010. I’m also freakishly regimented about time management.
  5. Sometimes my compulsiveness does NOT work for me. I have the most ripped up fingernails I’ve ever seen.
  6. The weirdest part of getting older is finding myself interested in things that seemed super boring even a few years ago. I never thought I would read books about finance and markets as a hobby.
  7. I LOVE travel. It doesn’t even really matter where haha. I’ve only started doing it in the past couple of years. So far my favorite places are EVERYWHERE. Also Hawaii.
  8. Speaking of travel, I’m finally going to Burning Man this year.
  9. I lived pretty much check to check until I was in my 30’s.
  10. I hated NYC when I first moved here. Now I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I think NYC residents all have Stockholm Syndrome.
  11. Nothing re-energizes me more than going to a coffee shop, drinking a macchiato, and thinking about big picture business problems and opportunities. I think I get a lot done because my absolute favorite way to get a break from work and totally refresh myself is to go to a coffee shop and work.
  12. My blood pressure sometimes reads on the high side. In addition to pulling back on coffee, I’ve gotten serious about dedicated cardiovascular training. Not only has it been very fun to learn about energy systems training, I’ve found I actually enjoy it.
  13. I would eat Mexican food every night. And while I enjoy authentic Mexican food, I most enjoy super douchey upscale Mexican.
  14. When I was 15, I had a defining moment that involved a brush with my own mortality and a close friend drowning. It took me years to put the pieces together, but on balance, I think that moment has never left me. I think it’s a lot of what drives me, and why I think about death so much. I still feel like I’m on borrowed time. And I want to make the most of every day and die fucking empty.
  15. I only started drinking Bloody Mary’s two years ago, but I am now obsessed with them. I love a good brunch.
  16. I LOVE LAS VEGAS. It is so over the top. I love seeing Cirque de Solei shows, I love the heat and the dessert, I love the views from the hotel rooms, I love the restaurants. Weirdly, I don’t even gamble.
  17. For me, kindness and humility trump virtually all other human values.
  18. I have a big family. I have three older brothers, a twin sister, and a younger brother.
  19. I really look up to Danny Meyer, who runs Union Square Hospitality Group, which is a NYC based company that owns Shake Shack and a number of the best restaurants in the city. I really appreciate the way he approaches business and the rest of humanity.
  20. I grew up on the ocean. Shore towns are the places that make me feel most relaxed.
  21. My girlfriend is seriously the greatest person in the world.
